Vrinds Mobiliteit Tilburg

Vrinds Mobiliteit is the place in Tilburg for the maintenance of various car and motorcycle brands, with a focus on Range Rovers and Jaguars. They often work on youngtimers that have been sitting idle for a while, both with diesel and gasoline engines.

A Peugeot J5 Turbo Diesel Camper is now being used regularly but has been sitting idle for a long time in the past. The engine smokes quite a bit, and it’s actually necessary to thoroughly clean the entire fuel system.

Corné Vrinds, the owner of Vrinds Mobiliteit Tilburg, started searching the internet and saw several highly positive reviews from users of SWEPCO 501 Premium Diesel Fuel Improver on various forums. He was curious to see if it would actually work or if it was just one of the many “urban legends” about various additives.
After speaking with Frank Kleijn and receiving a detailed explanation from him, Corné Vrinds wanted to see in practice whether this product actually works. He also wanted to change the transmission and engine oils. For this, he planned to use SWEPCO 202 MolyXP 75W90 Synthetic Gear Lube and SWEPCO 308 Premium Plus Diesel Engine Oil 5W-40 to observe the differences these two products would make.

• SWEPCO 501 was added to the tank with the engine running. The next day, around 50 km was driven, and a slight amount of smoke was occasionally visible during startup.
• After driving another 100 km, the engine ran smoother, was more powerful, and the exhaust gases smelled friendlier. The smoking had disappeared.
• The engine oil, SWEPCO 308 5W-40, resulted in a lower oil temperature and, therefore, better oil pressure, leading to more power under heavy load. The transmission oil, SWEPCO 202 75W90, made shifting much easier, especially noticeable when the oil was still cold.
