The history of Waalgarage dates back to a time when early Porsche models were not yet considered old.

It is a well-known phenomenon with various Porsche models that shifting with certain gearboxes can be more difficult than desired. Over the years, wear on the synchromesh occurs, and overhauling a gearbox is an expensive undertaking.

In May 2007, it was decided to test a number of “problematic gearboxes” to see if SWEPCO 201 80W-90 could reduce or even completely eliminate the “comfort issues.” Real-world experience is the only way to determine whether a higher-quality lubricant performs better than the standard oil used in Porsches.

• Several classic Porsches have been filled with SWEPCO 201 80W-90, significantly improving shifting, starting with the first test on a Porsche 911 and later on a 1996 Porsche 993.
• Following these positive experiences, SWEPCO 210 Multi-Grade was also introduced for newer vehicles used year-round. This oil remains slightly more fluid when outside temperatures drop below 10°C.
• In addition to SWEPCO 201 80W-90 and SWEPCO 210, Waalgarage also uses SWEPCO 714 Automatic Transmission Fluid, including for Cayennes and Tiptronics.
• Since October 2016, the latest transmission oil, SWEPCO 202 MolyXP 75W-90, has been used to achieve even better results than SWEPCO 210 Multi-Grade. For classic cars and youngtimers, SWEPCO 201 80W-90 remains the preferred choice. Since 2016, they have also been using SWEPCO 712 Heavy Duty Multi-Service ATF.
