COMPANY
Beverloo Suspension Service Center is a specialist when it comes to revising heavily loaded bike suspensions, such as the shock absorbers of mountain bikes.
CHALLENGE
Beverloo Suspension Service Center was looking for a grease that is both sticky and smooth, without affecting the stanchion coating or rubber parts.
They were also in search of an oil that would allow the forks to return to position more smoothly, even after hard impacts, ensuring no jerky movement or foam formation.
SOLUTION
In January 2019, Frank Kleijn recommended using SWEPCO 121 Tri-Plex Universal Grease for lubricating the O-rings during shock and fork revisions.
It was also advised to use SWEPCO 704 Synthetic AW Hydraulic Oil ISO-22, ISO-32, and ISO-46 instead of a multi-grade oil, as it would be too viscous for this application.
SWEPCO 706 AW EP Gear & Bearing Oil ISO-100 is used for lubricating dust seals and providing residual lubrication for lower legs.
They also use Zonex-K Industrial Cleaner, which is a powerful cleaner that does not negatively affect aluminum.
RESULTS
The results received from their relationships are:
- Long-lasting lubrication of the main seals, with the grease staying where it belongs. Initially, it feels stiffer, but due to better adhesion, the sliding becomes smoother over time.
- For open cartridge systems, there is almost no foam formation and improved damping.
- Durability: It’s difficult to determine precisely, but the initial indication is very good, as there have been no complaints related to lubrication or oil so far.
- Zonex-K: It is more economical to use than initially assumed, providing excellent results without affecting coatings or rubber. However, they had to test the right dosage for their specific needs.
REMARKS
“Extensive testing and feedback from our partners confirm that we made a good choice in using SWEPCO products. We aim to provide the best quality to our clients, and these products certainly make a positive contribution to that.” – Mr. Ramon Beverloo, Co-owner Maintenance.
Southwestern Petroleum Corporation thanks Beverloo Suspension Service Center, a SWEPCO partner since 2019, for this information, based on actual customer experiences from 2019 onward.
Results in other applications may vary. Always consult OEM specifications for the correct lubricant selection.
