Avema Wegenbouw B.V. Achterveld

Avema is a road construction company based in Achterveld. The company was founded in 1994 and specializes in the construction of asphalt pavements. They have modern equipment with which they can carry out all types of asphalt work. Avema provides asphalt paving for industrial areas, agricultural areas, recreational parks, private properties, and government projects.

Avema Wegenbouw B.V. in Achterveld initially used lubricants, engine oil, and gear oil from MOBIL, which did not meet the standards set by Avema. The oil often came out black from the crankcase and gearboxes, and the grease did not stay in place on the frame of the asphalt machine. Furthermore, the service life of the engine oil was only half a year, and they had to frequently top up the oil.

In December 2008, Frank Kleijn suggested using SWEPCO 101 Moly Grease for the frame of the asphalt machines, SWEPCO 201 Multi-Purpose Gear Lube for the final drive, and the transmission and intermediate gearbox, and SWEPCO 306 Supreme Formula Engine Oil 15W-40 for the engines. The grease would stay in place better, and the oil service intervals would be longer than before. Additionally, the machines would run more smoothly and produce less smoke. Oil consumption would also decrease, as the engine oil would remain cooler. By using LabTec oil analysis, a clear picture of the oil quality would be obtained, and any wear could be detected early.

• The oil in the gearbox, intermediate gearbox, and final drive now lasts at least twice as long, and the wear on parts has also been reduced.
• Through oil analysis, the oil change intervals have been doubled, and they receive early warnings if anything is wrong. For example, they were warned ahead of time about some wear in a final drive.
