Description

SWEPCO 728 In-Service System Cleaner is a concentrated fluid formulated with aggressive cleaning agents and dispersants. It removes varnish, sludge, gum, soot, carbon, lacquer and other harmful deposits from hydraulic systems, rotary and reciprocating compressors, industrial gearboxes, engines, differentials and final drives.

Complex oil passages, sumps, reservoirs, pressure and check valves, servos, fluid lines, cylinders, accumulators, pumps, separators, coolers and other oil system components can trap harmful deposits that build up and affect performance and efficiency.

Simple oil drains do not adequately remove these deposits, especially in systems such as hydraulics and compressors where cleaning and dispersing additives are not typically part of the oil formulation. New oil added after draining is quickly contaminated by harmful deposits left behind after used oil is drained.

SWEPCO 728 breaks down deposits, neutralizes harmful acids, and cleans metal surfaces without damaging seals or gaskets. This often reduces operating temperatures and wear and improves equipment efficiency.

Regular use of SWEPCO 728 prior to scheduled oil changes helps ensure optimum cleanliness and freedom from maintenance problems.

Mixing different oils can have undesirable effects when changing oil brands or types. SWEPCO 728 In-Service System Cleaner is also highly recommended as part of any flushing procedure.

Deposits left in the system by old lubricant are dissolved and suspended. SWEPCO 728 provides a more complete flush and reduces the likelihood of problems during oil changes.

SWEPCO 728 In-Service System Cleaner

  • Easy, safe, aggressive system cleaning without shutting down equipment or slowing production;
  • Use immediately before routine oil changes or for flushing when changing oil brands or types;
  • Recommended for use in hydraulic systems, rotary and reciprocating compressors, industrial gearboxes, differentials, final drives and engines.

Add directly to the oil system and run for a short cleaning period immediately prior to an oil change. Depending on the installation to be cleaned, the following times apply*

Application Mixing ratio Cleaning time
Hydraulische Systemen 1:16 60 Minutes
Screw compressors 1:32 30 Minutes
Piston compressors 1:32 30 Minutes
Industrial gearboxes 1:16 60 Minutes
Differentials 1:16 60 Minutes
Final drives 1:16 60 Minutes
Diesel or petrol engines 1:08 4 hours

*Depending on the degree of contamination, the above times may be slightly longer or shorter. For more information, please  contact us.

WARNINGS

SWEPCO 728 is not recommended for cleaning:

  • Automatic transmissions;
  • Manual transmissions for cars;
  • Turbines;
  • Rotary vane compressors;
  • Axial compressors;
  • Railroad engines (or other engines with silver components).

It is not recommended for cleaning systems containing PAG, glycol, silicone or biodegradable fluids unless used as part of a complete flush procedure prior to changing to a mineral oil, PAO or vegetable oil based biodegradable lubricant.

Do not use more product than recommended. Don’t exceed recommended cleaning times. Do not overfill oil systems; some old oil may need to be removed to make room for the recommended amount of SWEPCO 728. Drain the oil immediately at the end of the recommended cleaning cycle so that the contaminants are still in suspension.

If used as part of a complete flush and changeover, use SWEPCO 728 as the first step before using SWEPCO 729 Premium Flushing Oil.
